ERCOL SPINDLE CHAIRS
This pair of ‘male’ and ‘female’ Ercol chairs was much loved by the client but with old fashioned tartan pads, she wanted a fresh look. We organised new webbing and seat pads, upholstered, in the fabric of her choice. I then painted them with fresh Mallord cream eggshell and added the tiny design to pick up on the fabric detail.
These took a lot of hand sanding to remove the varnish. Primed, undercoated and then sent to the upholsterer with the topcoats finished. Once back I added the design details, touched them up and then delivered them back to their grateful owner.
