CHINESE SIDEBOARD
Sometimes it’s simply about dressing the ‘Emperor’ in new clothes. Changing the colour of a piece can make all the difference to how it sits in a room. Originally in black lacquer, this sideboard dominated the room, and so the eye was taken away from both the glorious painting above and the stunning sculpture that sits on it.
Key sanded, primed with two coats and then upcycled into a warm, light, taupe colour called Royal Circus from Craig & Rose. The soft steel ironmongery is now an attractive feature along with the black hinges.
